So, there was a little bit of a dust up this afternoon between kel and Eric The Awful over just how h2 works in relation to h1 and what the purpose of a feeder clan is.
Kel contended that a feeder clan is to feed the stronger clan with selected players, while Eric has been pushing to try and get some of the stronger members from h1 to bolster h2.
It seemed like an appropriate discussion to bring over to the forums, where more opinions can be shared. It is a decision that will ultimately be up to the elders, but I thought it might be an interesting topic of discussion and place to air out strong opinions.
Mods feel free to delete if this is out of line.

His choice was to continue to bring over folks from h1 but "requesting Thor and wharf" come Over. With the trophy push upon us, none of the higher level players will be over there. On top of that, h2 is supposed to strive to be in h1... And by the sounds of it 80% of them are content staying. After the trophy push we are going to Bring over a couple people- you included. And potentially cut ties. A forum post will go up later regarding this from h1 leader.

I hate to say this but it looks like kel was right. If they are planing to cut ties we should get thor back and do it asap. The whole purpose of the feeder clan was to make us stronger, not lose key elders and have them spilt whenever they feel like they could stand on their own two feet.

Ok cool.
I can see the role of someone like Eric or other elders when it comes to helping the feeder clan along in developing players, but once a trophy push really starts in the feeder clan it seems to be a more competitive atmosphere. The goal changes from strengthening the parent clan to strengthening the feeder.
I'm still a noob, so I'll let the elders make their decisions, but I see some of both sides. I do think there is value in having a couple high level played in the feeder for morale support, wisdom and strong troop donations, but it can't really work if there's too much worry on trophy pushes. Keeping trophies as high as possible for getting better players yes, but not for trying to get a high total count.
I'd like to hear what grif has to say on this, since Eric seems to be basing a lot of his notions on what he views as grif's directions. I think grif wanted to try and draft higher lvl players and push them to get better by keepi trophy counts up, whereas Eric ran with the idea of getting the clans total numbers up. There is obviously a big difference.
Ah well, I shall sit back and be quiet from here...

The idea is to draft higher level players and give the less qualified players a place to develop with some help. I for one have no intention of staying in the H2 clan. I am willing to help get them going with the understanding that H2 was started to help recruit stronger players into H1.
